Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. is looking for two part-time overnight Shelter Assistants for the Family Haven in North Port. The job duties include 12-hour shifts, two nights a week, from 8 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.  The shifts available are Tuesday and Wednesday, or Sunday and Monday. The overnight shelter assistant is responsible for overseeing the operation of the homeless shelter, ensuring clients safety. The overnight assistant will enforce policy and procedure, notifying supervisor and/or 911 of urgent problems, if any; assisting with admission and discharge of residents, simple meal preparation for residents, and other housekeeping duties as assigned.  The job requirements include a High School Diploma/GED. The job requirements inlcude a bachelor's degree in marketing, social services, public administration, public relations, management or a related field; three years experience in administration, special event and program development; and experience with fundraising data bases is a plus. Job duties include providing support for the District Director in two principal areas: Marketing and Administration. This includes special event and fundraising support; and clerical functions including phone calls, correspondence, scheduling appointments, computer work, spreadsheets/tracking data, and communication with a variety of civic and church organizations in the community.
