About 325 people attended the fundraiser at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice for an evening of wine tasting, dinner and silent, Chinese and live auctions. Bishop Frank J. Dewane was the guest of honor. Jeanne Kavanagh chaired the successful event. Over $25,000 was raised for Our Mother's House. It was announced at the Wine Tasting that the program would soon begin an expansion of services. Former resident Krystie Sedlmayer spoke to patrons about her life-changing experience of living at Our Mother's House. She expressed gratitude for the program and how it has offered her a second chance in life.
“The Wine Tasting is our signature fundraising event each year,” said Joyce Scott, Our Mother’s House program director. “Funds raised are used to ensure that our mothers and their children receive the programming and services they need to achieve their goals. We are truly grateful for all the support we have received from the community that made this year’s event a success.”
