St. Martha's Early Learning Center
School's in session!
Sarasota--Oh
the excitement! Thirty pairs of little feet clamored into St. Martha’s
Early Learning Center of Catholic Charities this past week as the
program welcomed the new students on the first day of school. There was
so much to do and to explore … new friends… new experiences.
Some little ones learned to say goodbye to mom and dad for the first time … some learned to tie their shoes, while others just watched. There were tears, laughter, spills and giggles, nap time, snack time and “Did you wash your hands?” time!
This
year St. Martha’s Early Learning Center responded to the emerging needs
of the students and their families and incorporated a Food Bank into the
school as an addition to their
Growing Healthy Kids curriculum. The center now has 17 students and
their families enrolled in the Food Bank.
With the help of school volunteers Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, All Faith’s Food Bank, and the continued generous support from the community, it is expected that more will be served as the school year progresses. Currently the teachers are looking for a gently used or new freezer to store perishables.
