Catholic Charities awarded BOOST grant
Sarasota--The
Community Foundation of Sarasota County celebrated 30 years of service
to the area with more than 300 guests on Thursday, November 19 at the
organization’s facility.
Attendees enjoyed lovely appetizers
and harp music, with the highlight of the evening being the announcement
of the BOOST (Building Organizations’ Operational Strength Today) grant
award recipients.
The BOOST initiative provided $831,802 in grant money to 30 local non-profit organizations to help sustain core services that are essential to their mission, including ways to increase efficiencies, lower operating expenses, and increase revenues. There were a total of 104 applicants asking for a grant from the BOOST initiative.
Catholic Charities of Sarasota County was
awarded a BOOST grant for $43,158 to hire a Volunteer Program
Supervisor. The supervisor will expand the current service capacity of
the agency by recruiting 40 new volunteers for seven key human service
programs throughout the county.
Catholic Charities is so very
thankful to the Board and
Selection Committee of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County for
the opportunity to sustain and expand the ability to serve the people in
our community … what an incredible Thanksgiving gift!
