Bethesda House in Sarasota looking for food pantry donations/volunteers
Bethesda House of Catholic Charities, located at 1670 Fourth Street in Sarasota, is a community drop in center for individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The program serves some of the neediest members of the community. Clients are offered food on a weekly basis from the pantry, clothing, laundry and shower facilities, case management, help with entitlements, housing and job assistance, and counseling. Volunteers are needed to collect donations for and work in the food pantry and the men’s clothing closet. Volunteers also are needed for the fundraising committee. Bethesda House of Catholic Charities is accepting monetary donations as well as food and clothes items such as canned meat and meals, dry cereal, ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, salad dressing, coffee, sugar and other non perishables along with men’s clothing and shoes. Our Mother's House in Venice needs maintenance and child care volunteers
Our Mother's House of Catholic Charities located in Venice is looking for two types of volunteers. Persons interested in helping the program with maintenance tasks such as painting, changing monthly air conditioner filters, light bulb replacement, light yard work and other projects are needed. Also, the program is seeking volunteers for the child care center to baby sit children during the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Flexible hours are available. Teens in need of community service hours also are welcome. Our Mother's House is a transitional, residential program for homeless mothers and their children and through education, vocational training, and personal growth helps them to achieve self-sufficiency.
